An Adoption Journey

The Gift

  • For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
  • For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Beijing

Dear Family and Friends,

Hello from China!

It was a very long flight, longer than I imagined - 13 hours on one leg of the trip just about did me in! Couldn't sleep on the plane for more than about 2 hours total after not sleeping well the night before! But, we made it and here we are in Beijing.

Yesterday was a very full day. First toured the Forbidden City then had lunch at a wonderful little restaraunt. We then went out to the Temple of Heaven for the afternoon then an amazing acrobatic show! I still say the human body should not be able to do some of the things they did!

We ended the evening with dinner at another delightful restaurant.

In bed by 9:30 - very exhausted but unable to sleep past 4AM!

Today we will be at the Great Wall and meet Samuel, the director for my adoption agency, who is here on business, and we will tour Living Hope's school later in the day.

I will try to post pictures when we get to Nanchang, where we should have internet access in the room rather than having to use the business center.

Hope all is well at home.

Sophie will be with me tomorrow afternoon!!

Blessings,

Chinamom

I agree...those acrobatic shows are unbelievable!! Wasn't the Forbidden City HUGE! You will be amazed at how emotional being at the Great Wall will be....enjoy. Samuel is awesome and I am so glad you get to see him in China. We met him for the first time when we went for Kaileen and he treated us like we were royalty...the man knows what to order :) I saw the temp...wow it is COLD in Bejing! I hope you are staying warm. I can't wait to hear that you have Sophie in your arms. Remember to ask about her schedule and remember they like to drink their formula HOT!

Love ya,
Michelle

Isn't it incredible to know that you are now in China doing all this cool stuff and will soon be given your precious daughter?! We traveled with Kathy Musick, Kim Nottingham, and others Dec 12-22. You will be inspired by the kids at the LH training center. We were! Enjoy everything about your daughter and China. It goes by so quickly. And then just love on your sweetie, Sophie.

Love,
Lynette Fasnacht and baby Caylei

I have been watching your blog to see if you have met with the XiuShui group and received Sophie. I hope everything is going ok and that maybe you are just having troubles with Blogger. If not...just know that if it is rough at first, it will get better. Hoping all is going well. Laurie
