Dear Family and Friends,
Here we are quickly ending the month of April. I can't believe Sophie has been home over 3 months now! It seems like she has always been here - though I know that we missed the first 13 1/2 months of her life together, God has graciously filled our days together with a multitude of memories for me!
Sunday was a special day for me. I dedicated Sophie to God during our church service at Grace. I have vowed before God and my church family that I will raise my daughter to know God's ways, and teach her about His precious gift of salvation. I want her to know Him and know of the great love He has for her. The hardest part for a mother is to promise to give her child to God's service, no matter where it may take her, when she grows up. I pray I will have the strength to give Sophie the wings to fly wherever God will send her.
She is still trying to walk on her own. She has taken a step or two by herself, but is still not willing to take it on fully! She will stand by herself if she gets distracted but for the most part she would rather plop to the floor and crawl at breakneck speed! I can hardly wait to see how fast she will be sprinting on two feet!
Chinamom got herself a haircut! Yes - my long hair is gone! It was much longer than I had thought it was - my good friend, Carol, cut about 14 inches off to donate to Locks of Love and I think may have trimmed another inch or two off to give me my new "Mom Do" as I like to call it! Got to love wash and wear hair!
I will post new pictures soon - getting a bit too late tonight to do much other than catch everyone up with at post.
Blessings,
Chinamom and Sophie

Catching up....
Dear Family and Friends,
Hoping everyone is doing well. We are busy here - trying to get ready for summer. I went through Sophie's summer clothes (I went shopping today and found some great tops at JC Penny's - buy one at regular price and get the second on for $!) I got some really cute gingham shorts for her too! Can't wait to see her in them.
I went to return something at Toys R Us and they wouldn't take it back without a receipt! What kind of customer service is that? They clearly sell the item (I saw about 20 of them on the shelves) and most places will give you at least the sale price of an item if you don't have a receipt, but not this store. It's odd because after my shower, I was able to return things to Babies R Us without receipts and didn't have a problem.... Anyway, one of the items I did have a receipt for - (they gave me credit for the sale price I think.. I saw the same item in the store for $19.99 but they only gave me credit for $14.99!!). I was a bit irritated and decided to just spend the gift card today so I wouldn't have to go back there. I ended up buying Sophie a new bathing suit and matching sun hat. It's too cute! Yellow, two piece with beach theme on it! That hat looks so cute on her!
I think she'll have plenty of summer clothes for this year. If she doesn't grow too much in the next year, she may be able to wear somethings into next summer. I bought most things in 24 months size and right now she can still get into some 12 month clothing - she's tall but still pretty thin, even though she eats like the proverbial horse!

Just too cute.....
Going out for the day...
Blessings,
Chinamom and Sophie
